Cong. Lamar Smith: “Border Security first; That is the House’s approach.”

Lamar Smith 7-14-13Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas –

Amnesty for 11-12 million people in the country illegally is occurring in 6 months (in the Senate’s recently passed bill,) and we might never, ever get to Border Security.

“Basically the Senate Immigration Reform Bill is unconstitutional, unworkable, and I cannot believe it would be supported by the American people,” Cong. Lamar Smith tells Insider’s Jim Cardle.

“We need to have Border Security first; That is the House’s approach,” said Smith.

Lamar Smith 7-14-13c3small“I’m on the House Judiciary Committee, we’ve already passed 4 Immigration Reform Bills in the House, and one of them happens to be a bill that I introduced that has to do with verifying the status of workers.

“Its called E-Verify, its supported by 85% of the American people, and it makes sure we hire legal workers in this country and save jobs for unemployed and under-employed American workers … there are somewhere around 26 million people now.”
