Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. After one last bout of now futile talks Congressional negotiators concede the obvious:
After months of hard work and intense deliberations we have come to the conclusion today that it will not be possible to make any bipartisan agreement available to the public before the committees deadline."
Despite our inability to bridge the committees significant differences we end this process united in our belief that the nations fiscal crisis must be addressed and that we cannot leave it for the next generation to solve."
Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) the Super-Committees Republican & Democratic co-chairs in a late in the afternoon joint statement.
We remain hopeful that Congress can build on this committees work and can find a way to tackle this issue in a way that works for the American people and our economy" they said.
The joint Congressional committee charged with drafting a deficit reduction package will miss its deadline this week while not quite giving up the chance a solution could be found later.
