FAA needlessly closing local towers to inflict political pain Congress may have to act to force right priorities
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Conroe -- U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady whose district includes one of the regional FAA Towers slated for closure issued the following statement today about the FAAs announcement.
The FAA is needlessly jeopardizing air safety punishing communities and shutting down cost-effective towers to inflict political pain rather than cutting frivolous spending in their bloated budget.
I applaud local leaders in Conroe and Montgomery County who stepped forward to provide the funding needed to keep the tower at Lone Star Executive Airport open after April 7th. If the FAA refuses to get its priorities right in a modestly smaller federal budget then Congress will do it for them.
