Congressman Green to host 18th Annual Citizenship Day

width=92Texas Insider Report AUSTIN Texas Houston Rep. Gene Green will host his 18th Annual Citizenship Day on Saturday June 23 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Houston Community College Northline Campus.  Permanent residents with five or more years of residency in the United States are encouraged to attend to receive assistance in filling out an application for U.S. citizenship.  Services at Citizenship Day are free of charge but applicants must pay the regular application fees to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  Due to volume constraints only the first 300 attendees can be served. Our office has done this event for the last 17 years.  Were glad to have been able to help people realize their dream to become a citizen of the United States" said Green.  The process towards becoming a U.S. citizen can often be confusing or intimidating but with the help of our community volunteers we have been able to help hundreds of legal permanent residents with filling out their paperwork and getting them on the right track to becoming a citizen."
