A major turning point in the fight to stop Obamas lawless amnesty...
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Senators John Cornyn and
Ted Cruz (R-TX) issued the following statements after a U.S. District Court Judge in Brownsville put a hold on President Obamas recent immigration executive actions due to
serious legal questions about those actions.
Todays ruling reinforces what I and many others have been saying for a long time: that President Obama acted outside the law when he went around Congress to unilaterally change our nations immigration laws said Senator Cornyn.
Todays victory is an important one but the fight to reverse the Presidents unconstitutional overreach is not over. The President must respect the rule of law and fully obey the courts ruling" Cornyn said.
In a separate statement U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz said the following regarding the Texas court injunction to temporarily block President Obamas executive action on amnesty:
The Texas court decision reached last night is a major turning point in the fight to stop Obamas lawless amnesty said Sen. Cruz.
Gov. Abbott and Attorney General Paxton are leading a coalition of 26 states to block the illegal executive actions and to protect our states cities and communities. This is a major victory for the rule of law; the District Courts ruling states that President Obama must now stop implementing these policies in any and all aspects.
Last summer we saw a humanitarian crisis on our southern border that was a direct consequence of Obamas previous amnesty. Republicans are now standing together to try to ensure that it never happens again.
The Senate Democrats who are filibustering Department of Homeland Security funding should look hard at this ruling.
At a time when we face grave national security threats at home and abroad it is the height of irresponsibility for the Democrats to block this funding in an extreme attempt to save Obamas amnesty which a federal judge has just declared illegal Cruz said.
