Cornyn: On the Southern Portion of the Keystone XL Pipeline Coming Online

 – Slams Administration’s Efforts to Block Keystone

Cornyn-092413Texas Insider Report: WICHITA FALLS, Texas – “The production of 700,000 barrels of oil daily, and the creation of 1,000’s of jobs is proof of what can happen when the federal government is kept from interfering in the growth of private industry,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), after TransCanada announced that the southern portion of the Keystone XL Pipeline is operational.

 

“With the stroke of a pen, President Obama could approve the remainder of the Keystone XL Pipeline today and stop standing in the way of job creation, economic growth, and a chance to become less dependent on unstable sources of energy.”

Cornyn Slams Administration’s Efforts to Block Keystone

 Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after additional e-mails were released, linking the EPA and environmental groups in efforts to obstruct the Keystone XL Pipeline.

“In front of the country next week, the President will once again claim to be committed to creating jobs and getting the economy on track, but as these emails show, his team is working behind the scenes not to create jobs, but to keep them from ever coming online.”

Senator Cornyn serves on the Finance and Judiciary Committees.  He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee’s Immigration, Refugees and Border Security subcommittee.
