Today I pledged to work hand in glove with them to ensure all emergency federal resources are readily available because our agriculture industry should not be left to fight one of the most severe droughts weve ever seen alone."
Sen. Cornyn met with representatives from the Texas Farm Bureau Texas AgriLife Extension Service Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers and Texas Association of Dairymen in conjunction with the Central Texas Cow/Calf Clinic.
Earlier this week Texas AgriLife Extension economists confirmed the cost of the 2011 drought as $5.2 billionthe mostly costly in Texas history.
