width=65WASHINGTON— U.S. Sen. John Cornyn a member of the Senate Budget Committee made the following statement Friday regarding the Texas job numbers for June. Texas’ unemployment rate fell to 4.4 percent and Texas employers added 47700 jobs.

“Texas continues to add jobs and our unemployment rate is dropping proving that economic growth in the state remains strong.  Texas’ policies of keeping taxes and regulation low should be the national model for promoting economic growth.

With energy prices at an all-time high and the national economy struggling I will continue to promote policies that will bolster our national economy by lowering taxes controlling government spending and producing more of our own energy right here at home.  Increasing domestic supply will give Americans much-need relief at the pump which is a step in the right direction to improving our nation’s economy.”
