New 3-Judge District will Give Texans the Judicial Panel They Deserve
On Thursday the Texas Senate passed a bill by Senator Creighton that would take redistricting and school finance lawsuits out of the sole hands of judges in Travis County. Supporters urge that having three judges decide redistricting and school finance cases is also consistent with the way federal courts handle such cases and would instill greater public confidence in the outcome. Texas Senate OKs Sales Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday
Senator Creighton states It was important to me coming into this session to make sure that we did not remain at a competitive disadvantage especially to our neighboring state Louisiana.
