It is unacceptable and shameful that Democrats are prepared to leave town this week having failed to act to protect American families and small businesses from a massive tax increase. Congress should not wait for an unaccountable lame duck session to address this issue but should vote today to protect taxpayers" said Congressman John Culberson (TX-07) on the failure to extend the 2001 & 2003 tax cuts before Congress adjourns.
Having amassed the largest deficits in our nations history House Democrats are poised to usher in a $3.8 trillion tax increase the largest in American history. Today Speaker Pelosi had an opportunity to stop these increases from going into effect but she refused to schedule a vote.
The nonpartisan Tax Foundation recently analyzed the impact that the expiration of these tax cuts would have on families. On average families in District 7 stand to see their taxes increase by over $2000. To read more about this report please click here.
