Signs Cut Cap and Balance Pledge to Stop Obamas Borrowing Binge and Reduce Federal Spending
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Yesterday afternoon Lt. Governor David Dewhurst (R-Texas) filed papers to become a candidate for U.S. Senate. Grassroots supporters were contacted first receiving a video detailing Dewhursts vision to take our country back and fight Obamas war on the Texas economy. A statewide announcement tour has been planned for September in which he will travel across Texas meeting with voters.
Im running for the United States Senate to help take our country back" Dewhurst said.
Our nation has gotten off track" said Dewhurst in the attached video. Washington spends money we dont have on programs we dont need while 14 million Americans remain out of work."

A native Texan Dewhurst has served as Lieutenant Governor since 2003. A strong fiscal conservative this year Dewhurst worked with Governor Perry to pass the largest reduction in state spending in state history balance five state budgets and protect taxpayers by maintaining more than $6 billion in the states Rainy Day Fund. As a result Texas remains the national leader in job creation and best place in America to do business.
Dewhurst dedicated his young adult life to serving America first in the U.S. Air Force then in the CIA and later in the State Department. When he left government service he returned to Houston to begin his career in business. Dewhurst built Falcon Seaboard into a successful energy and investments company creating jobs across the globe. In 1998 Dewhurst was elected Texas Land Commissioner.
A college basketball player at the University of Arizona and cutting horse rider Dewhurst was inducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2009. Dewhurst lives in Houston with his wife Tricia and their daughter Carolyn.
