In Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne jumped into the controversy after reports that the court was on the grounds of a large mosque there. In a Facebook post she said the city had nothing to do with the tribunal and that she was trying to understand how it worked. She said if basic rights are being violatedThe key part of that excerpt is that Van Duyne admitted to not knowing how such tribunals work. Much to her credit she spoke in no uncertain terms about her insistence that Sharia law not be a part of her city or Texas. caption id=attachment_85966 align=alignleft width=175 Taher el-Badawi (L) and Moujahed Bakhach (R)/caption The problem is that this is the Islamic version of progressivism. The key is that today were talking about civil disputes between Muslims. This is the camels nose under the tent. Its simply not politically viable for Islamic tribunals to start subjecting all Muslims to Islamic criminal courts but make no mistake thats where this all leads. A few days prior to that report a Fort Worth rodeo (Stock Show) was the source of another uproar when Moujahed Bakhach an Imam on the tribunal offered a prayer there. Semantics came into play when some tried to refer to it as a blessing. Another DMN article reported:I will not stand idle and will fight with every fiber of my being against this action."
On Wednesday the Stock Show posted: We would like to take this opportunity to separate fact from fiction: There was never a Muslim prayer or a prayer of any specific religion at the Stock Show." The Fort Worth Stock Show has long had a Christian tone from the evangelical-like comments of announcer Bob Tallman to the growing popularity of Cowboy Church held Sunday mornings in Will Rogers Auditorium. Tallman said Bakhach did a wonderful job."That statement by Tallman displays high levels of denial or ignorance. One of the Imams that serves on the Tribunal with Bakhach - Taher el-Badawi - was captured on video in Arabic calling for Muslims to defeat all infidels. In another video el-Badawi can be seen delivering a speech in Arabic at an MAS Youth event. MAS stands for Muslim American Society and is confirmed to have been founded by Muslim Brotherhood leaders. When an Imam delivers a prayer its a Muslim prayer regardless of the actual words uttered.
