Dewhurst Gains Texas Fraternal Order of Police Endorsement

width=71Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas   Public safety has had a dedicated ally during David Dewhursts time as Lieutenant Governor; his continuing efforts have made our cities safer our criminal laws stronger and have discouraged organized crime and international criminals from break our laws here in Texas said Frank G. Plowick president of the Texas State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. His commitment courage and integrity represent the core values of our National motto Law is the Safeguard of Freedom. The Texas State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police announced its endorsement of David Dewhurst Thursday in his bid for election to the United States Senate after a unanimous vote by the Executive Board. In a statement announcing their support the Texas State Lodge acknowledged Dewhurst as an honorable public servant and recognized his on-going support for the betterment of law enforcement and the citizens of Texas. I am proud to have the support of such an honorable and well-respected group of Texans said David Dewhurst. As a voice for thousands of Texas police officers their endorsement is important for my campaign. Im grateful to receive the support of the law enforcement officers that keep thousands of Texans safe each and every day Dewhurst said. The Texas State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police was formed 22 years ago in West Texas and now represents over 12000 law enforcement officers across the state. It is associated with the national Fraternal Order of Police the worlds largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers.
