Do Not Give Up Fighting

By Cong. Pete Sessions width=140Texas Insider Report: DALLAS Texas Last weeks Supreme Court ruling on the Presidents health care law was disappointing. This week as we celebrate the 4th of July and the birth of our great nation we are reminded of how valuable Independence and Liberty truly are. We also pause to remember how so many before us fought for those very freedoms to ensure that the American Dream could be a reality.   While the Court ruled that ObamaCare is constitutional as a tax that doesnt mean that its good policy for American families and small businesses that are struggling in the Obama economy.  The taxes imposed by the health care law only put more of a burden on North Texans -- and that is why I will fight for you in Congress to fully repeal this damaging law. ObamaCare was forced through Congress and then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass the bill to find out what was in it. Unfortunately for hardworking Americans the contents of the bill raise health care costs provide fewer choices cut $500 billion from Medicare and put government in the way of the doctor-patient relationship. To make matters worse the health care law is expected to cost our economy 800000 jobs at a time when our unemployment rate has been above 8 for over 40 consecutive months. I believe the American people want health care reform that is created through a step-by-step process which is thought-out and not rushed behind closed doors in Washington.  House width=122Republicans are committed to working with the American people and physicians on ways to reform our health care system in a way that makes health care affordable and accessible. You and the people of Texas deserve for your voices to be heard and I will not give up fighting for you to regain control of your health care from unelected Washington bureaucrats.  I stand ready to fight against the Administration and Democrats big government agenda to ensure that the American people get the reforms to our health care system that they need. Together we can restore faith in our government and begin Rebuilding the American Dream." Congressman Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) represents the Texas 32nd Congressional District and is head of the House Republican Congressional Committee.
