Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas –
“It’s going to be a new day down in Austin. A lot of conservatives are going to be moving to town,” the soon-to-be District 16 Senator, Don Huffines, tells Insider’s Jim Cardle.
“I like to look at Senate District 16, essentially the northern half of Dallas County, as the heart of the Republican Party for the State of Texas, if not for the nation.
“It’s where the Republican Party started in Texas, and I’ve always thought it was a lot more conservative than my opponent did … and, the conservative message won,”
While political prognosticators continue to debate the potential impacts of Huffines’ Republican Primary victory over 28 year incumbent John Carona, and while Huffines faces a Libertarian candidate in November’s General Election, he says he intends to deliver on the promises that carried him to victory.
