Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas For weeks Donna Campbell reminded voters that 64 of Senate District 25 rejected her incumbent opponent in the primary. As it turns out a few more rejected Sen. Wentworth in the run-off election as Dr. Donna Campbell won in a landslide 66 to 33
Donna Campbell carried every county including Bexar thought to be a Wentworth stronghold and didnt receive less than 60 of the vote in any of the counties.
Nobody thought we would get this far but our positive message resonated. It was really a God thing it always felt spirit-led" Donna Campbell stated.
Tonight the people of Senate Distict 25 made their voice clear. They rejected politics as usual and chose conservative leadership and fresh ideas over the status quo" Dr. Campbell said from her New Braunfels victory party. There is still a lot of work to do and support to gain and I look forward to representing all Republicans in the November election."
Senator Wentworth called to concede around 10:30 pm once all precincts had been reported. Dr. Campbell said he was gracious and thanked him for his service to Texas.
I want to thank Senator Wentworth for always being a strong proponent of second amendment rights" Dr. Campbell stated. Thats a tradition I look forward to carrying in the Texas Senate."
Donna Campbell will face Democrat John Courage in the general election on November 6.
