Texas Insider Report: AUSTINÂ Texas Well documented now across the nation is Congressman Lloyd Doggetts less than well reasoned insertion of impossible to comply with caveats in a federal education appropriation of some $830 million set for Texas schools.
Mr. Doggetts counter-productive actions place Texas school children -- and their teachers -- out in the cold to endure the point-making bureaucracy of a Washington insider. These mystifying and alienating actions also hold state leaders to an unattainable standard and run afoul of the most basic workings of how the nations state and federal governments operate.
This understanding seemingly lost on the congressman its certainly understood by the Texas Attorney General and I applaud his efforts to have what started in the snares of DC ended in a court of law.
Today I call once more on Mr. Doggett to cast aside his groundless stipulations. Taking this refreshingly well-reasoned action would save Texas considerable court costs and bring our school children and teachers in from the cold.
