Elizabeth Ames Jones: I will be Ready for 2012 Senate Race.

elizabeth-ames-jonesAUSTIN TX Statement by Texas Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones regarding Senator Kay Bailey Hutchisons announcement to serve out the rest of her term which expires in 2012: I am delighted Senator Hutchison made her intentions clear today to serve out the remainder of her term in the U.S Senate. She will continue to stand strong for Texas. From the beginning my plan has been to run for the U.S. Senate in 2012 when both the Senators and my terms are up.  I am happy to announce that nothing has changed with her announcement today. I am grateful for the confidence that Texans have shown in me which includes but is in no way limited to the financial support of over $1 million to help me get ready to run for the U. S. Senate in 2012. When I wake up every day and sometimes in the middle of the night I worry about three things: my children Texas and my country. It has been a privilege to serve the state I love for almost ten years and I will continue to fight for sound public policy based on my strong conservative convictions at the Railroad Commission. God willing I will be able to fight for Texas and the conservative principles on which our country was built in a couple of years in Washington DC. I will certainly be ready."
