Today’s Logic Letter,
By Lynn Woolley
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Dear Lojiks,
Were this 178 years ago, we would be in day two of the siege of the Alamo. William Barret Travis would not yet have written his “Victory or Death” letter. Texas was not yet a Republic.
But it was on its way as brave men and women were fighting for freedom.
I am somewhat taken aback at Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel’s announced plans to shrink the Army. Hagel was not my choice for this job,but the libtards are in charge and the only place they really would shrink the budget is in the Pentagon. They want to ‘take us off of war footing.” Fort Hood is, of course, vigilant, but if the Obama administration decides to close down a division — the Army’s job is to comply, assuming Congress votes that way. We can spend a trillion on stimulus to help unions and political cronies, but we can’t keep our military at current levels. Something is wrong with this picture. We are no longer the big, bad, feared nation that we were under Reagan and both Bushes, or even Clinton.
I believe a weak America makes this a dangerous world. Let’s keep our Armed Forces strong.
The annual rattlesnake roundup just concluded in Oglesby. The Waco Trib carried a picture of 63-year-old handler Jackie Bibby with a coiled rattler on his head. Bibby has been bitten several times and has a prosthetic leg and neither of his thumbs works. After the roundup, he buys the snakes from a service club and markets them for their venom, hide, and meat. I think he’s nuts — but not as nuts as the snake handler who died last week.
A CNN panel of governors on “State of the Union” (including Rick Perry) agreed that Obamacare is here to stay. They say a full repeal would be complicated or impossible. This is why I prefer Ted Cruz. I want Obamacare GONE and the sooner the better. I would hesitate to vote for any candidate at any level that isn’t focused on abolishing this law. Meanwhile, in the Wall Street Journal, small college president Stephen Blackwood writes that Obamacare no longer covers the one drug that keeps his cancer stricken mother alive. But, heck, let’s keep this wonderful law forever — not!
MEDIA: Piers is out at CNN. Larry King wants his old job back. I got news. Larry King’s style is boring and outdated. That is why he was replaced. But CNN replaced him with a similar styled show. CNN MUST rid itself of old-style, liberal CEO’s and producers and get into the modern age of cable news or it will be dead.
CNN, by the way, has declared the debate on Global Warming dead. According to a hand-picked panel on “Reliable Sources,” news should no longer cover opposing viewpoints. Forget the fact that 99.9% of all people who believe in climate change are liberals, who told us a few years ago that we were headed for another ice age. This is why we call them libtards.
Alec Baldwin says he’s through with media. He says MSNBC never understood what he wanted his cable show to be. And he says Rachel Maddow is a phoney. If you’re a conservative, his internet rant will likely amuse you. One of his biggest concerns in life is not to be thought of as homophobic. I still remember when anal sex between men was considered kind of odd. Times do change, don’t they? MSNBC might actually do BETTER with Larry King. (That’s because they can’t do any worse.) It makes me wonder if a fair & balanced nightly newscast one of the Big Three networks might work.
ABC is promoting a feature on “sleeping better” or some such on ABC WORLD NEWS with Diane Sawyer. This is self-help crap and it is NOT news. In a 30 minute newscast, there is no room for self-help stories. The police blotter and self-help are the two big enemies of serious news.
Take a stand!
Logically,
Lynn Woolley
