Flores: House Votes to Punish Sanctuary Cities

Bill Flores (R-TX) after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 3009 the Enforce the Law for Sanctuary Cities Act on a 241-179 vote.

The recent death of Kate Steinle could have been prevented had San Francisco authorities followed federal immigration laws and not released her eventual murderer  a person illegally in the U.S. with multiple felony convictions and five previous deportations.
House Republicans passed the legislation Thursday to deny federal funds to sanctuary cities in the aftermath of the slaying in San Francisco this month that involved a habitual illegal immigrant. The bill passed 241-179 and would withhold certain federal law enforcement grants to cities that have policies designed to shelter illegal immigrants from bill-flores-1013deportation. Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas. An entrepreneur former energy executive & Certified Public Accountant (CPA) he has been elected by his peers to be Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) and is a member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee.
