Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Representative Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding the attack in Dallas where five police officers were killed:
Today is a sad day for Dallas for Texas and for America. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of five Dallas police officers. Seven more including one civilian were wounded. Our prayers are with them and with their families during this difficult time.
Every day our law enforcement officials put their lives on the line. They do it without expecting thanks or gratitude. They do it to protect our communities our citizens and our rights. The officers who were killed in this act of terrorism were working to preserve the peace as Americans exercised their constitutional right of assembly. The attack on our men and women in uniform is an attack on all of us.
This is a time to be united as Americans and stand together to mourn and to condemn this extremely tragic act of violence."
