bill.floresTexas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement after the introduction of the House Budget Committees fiscal year 2014 budget The Path to Prosperity: A Responsible Balanced Budget. Today House Republicans took a stand for all Americans as we released a responsible plan to balance the budget and promote a healthy economy. This budget will hold Washington accountable to protect taxpayers and reform Washingtons wasteful spending habits. It is a bold plan that will fix our broken tax code repair the safety net and expand opportunities for American families. This budget resolution will help promote American energy security help re-establish American economic independence and create a more accountable efficient and effective government. The bottom line is that it is a plan to grow our economy to produce more jobs and better paychecks for hardworking American families. The House plan is a blueprint to balance the federal budget in 10 years without raising taxes while the Senate budget that is being proposed raises taxes and has no path to balance. Our budget stands in stark contrast to President Obamas previous budget proposals that never ever balanced. This year while Americans continue to struggle in a weak economy and with the highest levels of poverty in a generation President Obama has failed to timely release his budget and instead has elected to hit the campaign trail to promote his agenda that has led our country into debt doubt and decline. The House budget will help lead America towards a future that is prosperous and allows for economic growth. I am proud to have been asked by Chairman Ryan to serve on the Budget Committee and co-author a responsible balanced budget that will restore Americas promise prosperity and security." Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas and is an entrepreneur former energy executive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and member of the House Budget Natural Resources and Veterans Affairs Committees.
