Flores Votes for a Stronger America

House Passes FY 2016 Budget bill.flores.0315Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. - The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H. Con. Res. 27 the House Republican fiscal year 2016 budget. Following passage of the Balanced Budget for a Stronger America resolution Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement:
Today the House passed a pro-growth budget proposal that moves us away from the administrations tax and spend policies. Instead this policy blueprint moves us in a direction to fix our nations fiscal and economic challenges rather than adding to them. The House proposal balances the federal budget in less than ten years without having to raise taxes and cuts $5.5 trillion in federal spending. It ensures that our national defense remains strong and that our troops are adequately funded to defend America and its interests. Additionally this budget repeals Obamacare enhances energy security strengthens Medicare reforms the tax code repairs the safety net and expands opportunities for hardworking American families. Most importantly this budget holds Washington accountable to taxpayers and leads America toward a future that is prosperous. In addition to the Balanced Budget for a Stronger America the House also considered the Republican Study Committees proposed budget a Blueprint for a Balanced Budget. The RSC budget would achieve balance in six years cut federal spending $7.1 trillion increase funding for defense repeal Obamacare and replace it with the RSC alternative unleash Americas energy potential and fix our tax code with  pro-growth tax reform. The RSC budget laid forth a bold vision for America with policies that would boost our economy and provide a strong fiscal foundation for generations to come. While this budget did not ultimately pass the House some of the conservative principles we outlined will serve as markers that we will continue to promote to help shape future Republican budgets.  For the past six years hardworking American families have been suffering from the failed middle class economics that have been imposed by the Obama administration. With the passage of todays budget House Republicans are once again putting forth solutions that grow Americas economy instead of Washingtons bureaucracy and a balanced budget to restore America to the shining city on a hill that Ronald Reagan envisioned.
