Flores Votes to Fund FEMA and WIC

“. . .  the House voted to make certain that FEMA has the resources to continue to provide emergency disaster assistance.”

bill.floresTexas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – As the federal government shutdown continues, the House of Representatives has passed targeted spending bills for national emergency disaster recovery and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Following passage of these bills, Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement:

“The House continues to pass bills to provide critical funding for important areas of government. Today, the House voted to make certain that FEMA has the resources to continue to provide emergency disaster assistance. Additionally, the House voted to ensure that the nutrition assistance program for low income women and children stays operational. Just like the previous targeted spending bills the House passed earlier this week, these bills passed with bipartisan support. The House will continue to consider additional critical, targeted funding bills as long as the Senate refuses to negotiate on a continuing resolution to fully fund the federal government. The Senate needs stop playing political games and meet with the House to bring fairness to the America people and to restart the federal government.”
