Flores Votes to Repeal Replace Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate

Fix Includes Obamacare Individual Mandate Delay bill-flores-1013Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C.   The U.S. of House Representatives has passed the SGR Repeal and Medicare Provider Payment Modernization Act which repeals and replaces the Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR). Following passage of the bill Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement:  By repealing the broken Sustainable Growth Rate formula we can eliminate the uncertainly that our nations physicians face from unstable Medicare reimbursement rates. This legislation establishes a system that rewards quality helps control costs and provides fair compensation for doctors. Now the focus can once again be on protecting Medicare beneficiary access to physician services and providing the highest quality of care for our seniors. Aside from repealing and replacing the SGR formula this legislation provides fairness to all Americans by delaying the Obamacare individual mandate for five years. Obamacare has been riddled with failures which become even more evident as we see the draconian effects it is having on job creators and hardworking American families. I remain committed to fully repealing and replacing the presidents health care law with patient-centered private-sector solutions that maintain the patient-doctor relationship without interference from unaccountable federal bureaucrats. As a cosponsor of this legislation I was pleased to see it pass with bipartisan support. It is my hope that the Senate follows the lead of the House and expedites the passage of this legislation that provides fairness to all Americans and replaces the flawed SGR formula with a system focused on quality value and accountability." Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas and is an entrepreneur former energy executive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and member of the House Budget Natural Resources and Veterans Affairs Committees.
