Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas In addition to his appointment as Chairman of the Sportsman Caucus State Representative Dan Flynn has been recognized for his outstanding work on the Texas-Mexico Border specifically and his overall contributions to Homeland Security by being appointed to the Texas State House Committees on Defense & Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security & Public Safety.
In his new role
Representative Flynn will be working on the States response to the crisis on the Texas-Mexico Border Homeland Security Issues Veterans needs as well as addressing the lack of response from the Federal Government to these vital concerns.
The Federal Government has failed to protect the citizens of Texas by adequately securing the border and has placed us all at risk. I plan to work and support a strong statewide response and to find ways to strengthen our military and public safety teams to better serve Texans stated Flynn.
Representative Flynn has extensive experience in Homeland Security. He is:
- the current Vice Chair of the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) Standing Committees and actively serves on the military affairs component of that Conference
- Is formerly a member of the U.S. Army
- Currently holds the rank of Commander in the Maritime Regiment of the State Guard Texas Military Forces and
- Has deployed to the Border in support of State Disasters including recent Hurricanes making his experience vital to the committees success.
He recently visited the border concentrating on Falcon Lake and Brownsville examining cross border violence issues and escorted Tiffany Hartley whose husband was killed by members of the Mexican Cartels on Falcon lake to the
border limits of the Lake for a memorial service and appeared in the National Press on this incident.
Representative Flynn will continue to listen and interact with all stakeholders in the Homeland Security arena because he firmly believes that elected officials are responsible to those who placed him in office and they are demanding their borders become secure and that veterans issues are addressed.
Flynn is a noted leader in the conservative cause and he is very dedicated to ensuring that Americas moral religious and constitutional foundation are remembered and respected. He is also a strong States Rights supporter and believes that the citizens are the ones in which the power is vested.
