Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN TEXAS - Election Day 2010 was a victory for all Conservative Texans said Representative Dan Flynn (R-Van) on the 1st day of filing legislation for the upcoming legislative session. The people have spoken & it is apparent they demand a conservative limited government that they stand for strong traditional values they want their borders secured and they want their leaders to follow the constitution.
Flynn said he has many priorities for the 82nd Session of the Texas Legislature including work to balance the 2012-2013 budget without raising taxes or using Texass Rainy Day funds. He said he will continue to work to reduce Texas reliance on federal funds.
Flynn said he will also work to reduce taxes on capital relying on Texas vibrant private sector to expand the states economy by maintaining relatively sound tax land use and environmental policies.
- House Bill 75 would allow the open sale of raw milk at places such as fairs farmers markets etc. Requested by constituents and supported by the Farm & Ranch Freedom Alliance it does not allow for sales at commercial establishments such as grocery stores etc.
- House Bill 79 would protect public school teachers who have chosen to have the Ten Commandments displayed in their classrooms. The display of the Ten Commandments is a patriotic exercise and it is made no less so by the acknowledgement of Texass religious heritage via the inclusion of the phrase under God. in the pledge.
- House Bill 81 would limit the use of public funds to print certain public documents in a language other than English. This reflects simple principles that if you want to live here learn the language and do not burden the State of Texas with millions of dollars worth of alternative language costs.
- House Bill 82 would make 8-liner machines illegal regardless of their manner of operation. The District & County Attorney Association &
Hunt County have long held that gambling is not something the citizens of this area or Texas want. The social costs of gambling are far in excess of the tax gain and must be limited.
- House Bill 84 was requested by the Hunt County commissioners court and would give them the right to establish a Hunt County Municipal Utility District. This would allow local control over this practical concern and allow the county to better meet the needs of its citizens in the future.
Said Flynn As the 82nd Session draws closer I will continue to keep my constituents informed of all the work I am doing for them in Austin. It is my honor to represent the people of Texas and especially those who reside in House District 2.
I continue to welcome your input & questions please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance to you Flynn said.
