Hegar will protect energy sector jobs
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – The Glenn Hegar Campaign announced today that former Railroad Commissioner Victor Carrillo has endorsed Glenn Hegar in his Republican Primary race for Texas State Comptroller. Carrillo served as Railroad Commissioner from 2003-2011.
“Glenn understands the value the Texas Oil & Gas industry brings to our state,” Carrillo said. “As Texas’ energy production continues to grow, we must have strong leaders that will protect our natural resources and energy sector jobs.”
Glenn Hegar has represented Senate District 18, which encompasses the booming development of the Eagle Ford Shale. During his time in the State Senate, Hegar served on the Senate Committee on Natural Resources for the last four legislative sessions.
“Texas is leading the nation to energy independence,” Hegar said. “With one in four jobs having a tie to the Oil and Gas industry, we must make sure that those jobs are protected from an unprecedented amount of job killing policies coming out of Washington.”
