AUSTIN – As federal and state policies drive billions of dollars of capital investment toward the construction of massive West Texas wind farms Texans must assess whether the rapid expansion of wind energy is beneficial or harmful to our state. The Texas Public Policy Foundation will release a report on Tuesday October 28th that addresses that question.
The report “Texas Wind Energy: Past Present and Future” lays out the benefits and challenges associated with wind energy so that policymakers and the public can make informed decisions about wind’s appropriate role in meeting Texas’ future energy needs.
The report will be released at a 10 a.m. press conference at the Foundation’s headquarters located at 900 Congress Avenue Suite 400 in Austin.
The Foundation will also host a conference call at 11:00 a.m. for news organizations outside of Austin that are unable to attend the press conference. Please contact the Foundation’s director of media and government relations David Guenthner to register and receive the toll-free number and passcode for the conference call.
