Project will monitor status of Texas’ competitive electricity market
AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation will debut its latest project the “Texas Electric Meter” at a briefing for credentialed news media at 10 a.m. on Wednesday March 26th.
The Texas electricity market completed its transition from regulation to competition on January 1 2007. The “Texas Electric Meter” is a new publication from the Texas Public Policy Foundation that will provide a comprehensive look at the status of the Texas competitive electricity market focusing particular attention on those metrics important to Texas residential customers.
The “Texas Electric Meter” was developed by Bill Peacock Director of the Foundation’s Center for Economic Freedom. Peacock has researched written and testified extensively on the Texas electricity market during the last three years.
