AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry appointed four to the Advisory Committee on the Regulation of Controlled Substances Act for terms to expire Sept. 1 2009. The act established by Senate Bill 1879 of the 80th Legislature regulates and provides penalties for the abuse of controlled substances.
Aaron Calodney of Tyler is an interventional pain physician. He is president of Texas Pain Society and board member of the International Spine Intervention Society and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is also an editorial board member of SpineLine the official journal of the North American Spine Society and member of the Texas Medical Association and Smith County Medical Society. He received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University a medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine and a fellowship in pain management from the University of Texas Health Science Center.
John W. Chaddick of Temple is director of pharmacy operations for Scott and White Health Plan. He is a founding member of Texas Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and member of the Texas Pharmacy Association and Legislative and Regulatory Action Committee. Additionally he is a past advisor for Temple College Tech Prep member of the Temple Independent School District Improvement Committee and past trustee and deacon of Meadow Oaks Baptist Church. Chaddick received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin School of Pharmacy.
Catherine L. Scholl of Austin is an anesthesiologist with Austin Anesthesiology Group. She is president of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists past president of the Travis County Medical Society and delegate to the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She is a board member of the Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas member of the Texas Medical Association Council on Legislation and past member of the Texas Medical Association Council of Medical Education. Scholl received a bachelor’s degree and medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Harvard University.
E. Alan Thornton of Lumberton is a pharmacist and manager of Scholar’s Medicine Chest Pharmacy. He is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and Texas Pharmacy Association. He is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Inc. and the State Bar of Texas. Thornton received a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and a law degree from South Texas College of Law.
