FT. HOOD: May Their Broken Hearts be Mended

By Robert Flores & David Robison ft.hoodAbout 60 miles North of Austin amidst the hills and prairie of central Texas sits one of the keystones of Americas defense Fort Hood.  Home to over 50000 soldiers and thousands more civilian workers and family members it has been at the forefront of Americas efforts in the war in Afghanistan and Iraq.   More soldiers from Fort Hood have paid the supreme sacrifice over the last seven years of conflict then from any other base or Fort. Tough professional and passionate about their service to their country these men and women train to fight Americas wars on foreign battlefields. Yesterday November 5th 2009 13 more members of the Fort Hood community lost their lives in a devastating attack.  This time it was not overseas but right at home. One behalf of the TEXAS INSIDER.org publisher & staff our condolences to the families who lost love ones. May their grieving hearts be comforted and with our prayers to the families of the wounded may their broken hearts be mended. Also our prayers are with all the families of Fort Hood and the entire U.S. Army. Sadly too often we take for granted the sacrifice these men and women make on our behalf. We hope that each of our readers will pause for a moment today and give thanks to these people who are your neighbors sons daughters brothers and sisters. Many of us are directly or indirectly connected to the United States Military in particular the U.S. Army. We continue to honor them and show our gratitude Militarybecause quite frankly: It takes a special individual to wear the uniform of the Armed Services. Psalms 56:8 You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book."
