George P. Bush Delivers 100 Days Address Live

Bush today delivered an address and released a new accountability website to report on the progress he has made during his first 100 days leading the Texas General Land Office (GLO). The speech was live streamed using the Periscope app and the video was recorded to be available on YouTube for viewing after the event. In this groundbreaking speech Commissioner Bush spoke about the hard work he and his team are doing at the GLO to better serve our Texas veterans earn tens of millions for the states Permanent School Fund grow our energy sector and protect the Alamo - the Shrine of Texas Liberty. The new website www.yourtxglo.com was created to inform Texans of the innovations and successes achieved in the first 100 days under Commissioner Bushs leadership.
At the Land Office we got busy on Day One working to create an agency worthy of the people of Texas Commissioner Bush said.  We wanted to transform the General Land Office and use it to help Texans pursue their dreams. In the first 100 days were off to a strong start.  We have changed the way the GLO does business in all of the major areas that I campaigned on: the Alamo veterans education and energy.
In addition to his core priorities Commissioner Bush spoke of his commitment to transparency and accountability within government. He appointed the agencys first Director of Open Government and he added greater accountability to the GLO contracting processes. Commissioner Bush spoke of the recent innovations implemented at the agency using social media and Web-based applications to increase accessibility for the public. These innovations include establishing the GLOs first agencywide social media and initiated Texas Shores the first digital access guide for more than 3000 miles of Texas beach and bay coastline. In addition under Commissioner Bushs leadership the GLO has created mobile phone apps that enable coastal staff to gather data in the field and automate the business process for the Disaster Recovery Division eliminating manual data entry and improving efficiency.
