Newt Gingrichs latest campaign ad is the former House Speakers food stamps answer taken directly from Mondays debate in South Carolina.
Called The Moment" the ad hopes to build on Gingrichs
fiery performance in which he at one point received a standing ovation from the crowd.
More people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in American history" Gingrich says in the ad which will run in South Carolina. I believe every American of every background has been endowed by their creator with the right to pursue happiness and if that makes liberals unhappy Im going to continue to find ways to help poor people learn how to get a job learn how to get a better job and learn some day how to own the job."
On the campaign trail Gingrich has repeatedly referred to President Obama as the food-stamp president" despite criticism that he has singled out the black community as relying on government welfare.
At Mondays debate one of Gingrichs biggest applause lines came when he rebuked moderator Juan Williams over a question about whether his statements about food stamps were offensive to minorities and the working poor.
Gingrich said on Tuesday that the black community was only one example of an issue that touches all Americans.
