Matthews to 281st Judicial District Court Hinde to 269th Judicial District Court
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has named Sylvia A. Matthews of Houston judge of the 281st Judicial District Court of Harris County for a term to expire at the next general election.
Matthews is a partner with Andrews Kurth LLP focusing on the women’s initiative team and diversity committee. She is a member of Defense Research Institute and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel. She is also a volunteer with the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program United Way. Matthews received a bachelor’s degree from The College of Charleston and a law degree from the University of South Carolina. She replaces David Bernal of Houston.
Appoints Hinde to 269th Judicial District Court
Gov. Rick Perry has named Daniel E. Hinde of Houston judge of the 269th Judicial District Court of Harris County for a term to expire at the next general election.
Hinde is senior counsel at Steele Sturm PLLC. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas Houston Bar Association American Bar Association and Aggie Bar Association. He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas Court Rules Committee and chair of the Houston Bar Association Federal Practice Section. Hinde received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He replaces John T. Wooldridge of Houston.
