Gov. Perry Appoints Fields to Texas Optometry Board

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today appointed Larry Fields of Carthage to the Texas Optometry Board for a term to expire Jan. 31 2011. The board oversees licensing and regulation of optometrists in Texas.
 
Fields is an attorney and real estate broker in private practice. He has also served the last 15 years as a municipal court judge for the City of Tatum. Fields is a past board member of the Panola County Chamber of Commerce and member of the State Bar of Texas Texas Municipal Court Association and College of the State Bar of Texas. Additionally he is a member of the Texas Apartment Association Texas Association of Realtors and Carthage Lions Club.
Fields has a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law.
