AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry appointed Daniel G. Rios of Edinburgh as judge of the 449th Judicial District representing Hidalgo County pursuant to SB 1951 of the 80th Legislature for a term to expire at the next general election.Rios is an attorney in private practice and past Assistant Criminal District Attorney for Hidalgo County. He is a member and past officer of the Hidalgo County Bar Association and past member and past officer of the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association. Additionally Rios is a member of the State Bar of Texas and International Museum of Arts and Sciences.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a law degree from the University of Texas.
