Gov. Perry Appoints Three to OneStar Foundation Board of Directors

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry appointed three individuals to the OneStar Foundation Board of Directors. The foundation serves to further volunteerism and community service in the State of Texas.
 
Beau Egert of Friendswood is vice president of business development at Luscinia Health. He formerly worked as director of programs and initiative development for the One Star Foundation and was also director of the Governor’s Faith Based and Community Initiative. Egert is a past founding board president at Faith Covenant Support Services Inc. He received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and master’s degree from Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Janine Turner of Colleyville is an actress and member of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. She is a volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club of Dallas Cooke County Children’s Hospital and the Pregnancy Resource Counsel. Turner is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
 
Charles Lewis Jackson of Houston is a pastor at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He is a member of the Baptist Ministers Association Texas State Chaplains Association and Harris County Council of Organizations. Jackson is a board member of the American Red Cross Disaster Team and past board member of the Harris County Houston Sports Authority. He serves as a council member for the Harris County Citizen Corps. Jackson is a graduate of the Institutional Baptist Theological Center and received a doctoral degree from Union Baptist Theological Seminary.
