Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Gov. Rick Perry has appointed three members to the State Health Services Council. The council makes recommendations regarding the management operation policies and rules for public health mental health and substance abuse.
Carmen Pagan of McAllen is co-owner of Milestones Therapeutic Associates a speech language pathologist and a certified neuro-developmental treatment pediatric speech instructor. She is chair of the Governors Commission for Women and a member of the American and Texas Speech-Language-Hearing associations. She is a certified member of the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) and chair of the NDTA Certification Committee. She is also a sustaining member of the Junior League of McAllen and past president of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi. Pagan received a bachelors degree and masters degree in communication disorders from the University of TexasPan American. She is appointed to the council for a term to expire Feb. 1 2015.
Nancy Townes of Granbury is a retired registered nurse and former technical support representative for Medtronic. She is a former labor and delivery nurse past clinical labor and delivery nurse instructor for Anne Arundel Community College and a volunteer for the Red Cross of San Antonio. Townes received a bachelors degree from Baylor University. She is appointed to the council for a term to expire Feb. 1 2015.
Jay Zeidman of Houston is president and partner of PulmonaryRx. He is a founding board member of the Houston Holocaust Museum Next Generation and Memorial Hermann Hospital Foundation Heroes in Health and a board member of the Childrens Memorial Hermann Hospital. He is also a past member of the 2011 Texas Inaugural Committee and One Call Board of Texas past venture fellow of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston and past student body president of Texas Christian University (TCU). Zeidman received a bachelors degree from TCU and a Master of Business Administration from the Rice University Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business. He is appointed to the council for a term to expire Feb. 1 2019.
