AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed three members to the Texas Judicial Council which studies and reports on the organization and practices of the Texas judicial system.
Richard Figueroa of Houston is a senior financial advisor and vice president at Merrill Lynch. He is an ambassador for the Greater Houston Partnership and director of Mission Houston. He is also president of the Kiwanis Club a board member of ESCAPE Family Resource Center Junior Achievement Speaker and director of the Houston region of Young Life.
Figueroa received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting and economics from Texas A&M University and is also a certified public accountant. He replaces Lance Richard Byrd of Dallas for a term to expire June 30 2013.
Allyson Ho of Dallas is an attorney with Baker Botts L.L.P. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas editorial board of The Advocate Bench Bar Liaison Committee of the State Bar Appellate Section and Federalist Society Litigation Practice Group Executive Committee. Ho received a bachelor’s degree from Duke University a master’s and doctorate degree in English from Rice University and a law degree from the University of Chicago. She replaces Elisa Martinez- Carian of San Antonio for a term to expire June 30 2013.
Henry Nuss of Corpus Christi is an attorney with Welder Leshin L.L.P. He is past president of the Texas Association of Bank Counsel and Corpus Christi Independent School District Board and an officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps. He is also a member of the Corpus Christi Art Museum board of governors and Texas State Aquarium board of trustees. Nuss received a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College and a law degree from Southern Methodist University. He replaces Joseph Alan Callier of Kingwood for a term to expire June 30 2009.
