TAMU-Kingsville was pegged to help create the center with the city of San Antonio providing $15 million for infrastructure development. Additionally under Gov. Perrys leadership the 79th Legislature authorized $40 million in Tuition Revenue Bonds for the universitys first building utilizing land donated by the Verano Group.
