Also Appoints Three Members
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has named Frederick Liles Arnold of Plano presiding officer of the Council on Sex Offender Treatment for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. He also appointed three members to the council which develops and implements education policy concerning effective interventions and management of sex offenders.
Arnold is a licensed professional counselor licensed sex offender treatment provider and clinical member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers. He received a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and master’s degrees from the Reformed Theological Seminary and the University of Miami. He replaces Walter J. Meyer III of Galveston as presiding officer.
Ronnie Fanning of Woodway is a probation officer with the McLennan County Community Supervision and Corrections Department. She is secretary of the Lake Brazos Rotary Club and a firefighter at the Woodway Volunteer Fire Department. Fanning received a bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University at Dallas. She replaces Monica Hernandez of Raymondville for a term to expire Feb. 1 2011.
Alida S. Hernandez of McAllen is president of AAA Personnel Agency Inc. She is chairman of the Heart of the City board of directors and president of the Rio Grande Valley chapter of the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas. Hernandez replaces Patricia Lykos of Houston for a term to expire Feb. 1 2013.
Dan Powers of Carrolton is senior director of clinical services at the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers National Parent Teacher Association and Texas Children’s Justice Act Task Force. He is also a cub master and scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America. Powers received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. He replaces Walter Meyer of Galveston for a term to expire Feb. 1 2013.
