Gov. Perry: Presidential Disaster Declaration Approved for Three Central Texas Counties

“The approval of this declaration is welcome news to the residents of Travis, Hays and Caldwell counties . . . ”

rick-perry2Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Gov. Rick Perry today announced that his request for public assistance through a federal disaster declaration for three Central Texas counties has been approved. The governor requested individual and public assistance earlier this month to support recovery efforts in areas impacted by severe storms and flooding between October 30 and November 1. Approval of the individual assistance request is still pending federal review.

“The approval of this declaration is welcome news to the residents of Travis, Hays and Caldwell counties,” Gov. Perry said. “This means that much-needed assistance is on its way to these communities, and Central Texans affected by the severe floods can begin rebuilding their lives.”

In addition to this approval, the Small Business Administration has also granted the governor’s request to provide disaster assistance, which will enable homeowners, renters and businesses in 11 Central Texas counties to apply for long-term, low-interest disaster loans.
