Texas Insider Report: DAVOS, SWITZERLAND – “More and more, people around the world are recognizing Texas as a global economic leader,” said Gov. Rick Perry, wrapping up a successful week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. During his trip, Gov. Perry worked to recruit businesses and industries to Texas.
He also met with world leaders in business, government and finance to promote the successful policies that have made Texas a global beacon for economic strength, job creation and opportunity.
“Texas’ presence in global trade and economic markets will continue to grow, and this has been an incredible opportunity to share our successes with global leaders in the glow of one of the largest spotlights in the world,” said Perry.
Gov. Perry participated in panels and discussion groups on a range of key policy issues shared by governments around the world, including health care, criminal justice and drug policy, as well as the future of government in relation to technological advances and data-driven innovation.
Gov. Perry was the only U.S. governor to attend this year’s World Economic Forum, and this is the first time he has participated in the week-long event.
