Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN TEXAS Gov. Rick Perry has set Tuesday Dec. 14 2010 as the special election date to fill the House District 44 seat vacated by the passing of Rep. Edmund Kuempel. House District 44 includes Gonzales Guadalupe and Wilson counties.
Candidates for this special election must file applications with the Secretary of State no later than 5 p.m. on Monday Nov. 15 2010. The early voting period for this special election begins Monday Nov. 29 2010 and ends Friday Dec. 10 2010.
The winner of this special election will serve out the remainder of Rep. Kuempels unexpired term and the full term in the 82nd Legislature which expires in January 2013.
