Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Gov. Rick Perry has set Tuesday Nov. 8 2011 as the special election date to fill the House District 14 seat vacated by the resignation of Rep. Fred Brown. House District 14 consists of parts of Brazos County.
Candidates for this special election must file applications with the Secretary of State no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 7 2011. The early voting period for this special election begins Monday Oct. 24 2011 and ends Friday Nov. 4 2011.
The legislator elected in this special election will serve out the remainder of Rep. Browns term which expires January 2013.
