Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Gov. Rick Perry today set Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, as the special election date to fill the Texas State House District 50 seat formerly held by Rep. Mark Strama.
Candidates for this special election must file applications with the Secretary of State no later than 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 4, 2013. The early voting period runs from Monday, October 21 to Friday, November 1.
The winner will serve out the remainder of Rep. Strama’s term, which expires in January 2015.
