Gov. Perry to Administer Oath of Office to TWCs New Chairman Tom Pauken

width=63width=65AUSTIN — Gov. Rick Perry will administer the oath of office to Tom Pauken of Dallas as chairman of the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) for a term to expire Feb. 1 2013. The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday April 15 2008 in the Senate Chamber at the Texas Capitol.

Pauken is founder and president of TWP Inc. He formerly served in the White House Counsel Office under President Ronald Reagan and was subsequently appointed by the president to serve as director of the volunteer program ACTION.

At ACTION Pauken founded the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program and helped lead the implementation of former first lady Nancy Reagan’s Just Say No drug awareness campaign. He is a board member of TOR Minerals International Inc. and FutureMatrix Interventional Inc. Pauken is a member of the State Bar of Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus. He also is the author of The Thirty Years War: The Politics of the Sixties Generation.

Pauken received a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a law degree from Southern Methodist University. He replaces Diane Rath of San Antonio.
