Rick Perry with its inaugural Governors Award 2012. Editors attribute Perrys win to his business-friendly approach of running the state which has helped Texas create more than 550000 new jobs between July 2009 and July 2012 and his goal to make Texas the most pro-investment state in the U.S. fDi Magazine is a specialist publication from the publishing group The Financial Times. In the last ten years Texas has generated nearly 1.4 million new jobs more than three times the number of any other state kept unemployment below the national average for 66 straight months and has seen a surge in a wide variety of sectors from energy to information technology to biotechnology.
