Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Now that Romney has wrapped up the nomination we see Pres. Obama breaking out wheeling out his campaign. But that rough primary process the GOP went through was a good one because so may conservatives & so many Republicans tuned in. What bothers me is that Romney is our nominee and yet we still are not having the full GOP electorate rallying behind him. and now is the time to do that says GOP-USAs Bobby Eberle.
Yes the long process is what allowed Sen. Santorum to gain ground thats what kept Newt Gingrich in the race ... grass-roots politics.
Voters cant & dont just wake up one day and say who is our naminee who are we going to support. They have to be proven they have got to have that trial by fire and that is what we got this time around says Eberle.
But there is a time and a place for fighting these battles and thats in the state caucuses and the state primaries. Santorum won some ... he deserved to be able to continue his campaign and take his message forward as an alternative to Mitt Romney. Same thing with Newt Gingrich. These people were on the ballot because they won elections.
One by one as they saw the hand-writing on the wall they dropped out & endorsed Romney; hes the nominee. The only person who has not done that is Ron Paul and his or others delegates are bound to vote for their candidate for only the first round of votes at the convention.
Just as (Hillary) Clinton and (Barack) Obama battled even deeper into the primary election season four years ago than Republicans are this year they came together and moved forward.
We need Ron Paul and his people to do that right now. We need Ron Paul to stand up and say I support the nominee. Im a Republican.
If he did that I think it would go a long way to bringing the party together Eberle said.
